We are proud to announce that starting May 1st, 2024, Dr. Luiz Bolfer, DVM, PhD (Cardiology), DBCVECC (Emergency and Critical Care), will become the new Medical Director of our Boca animal urgent care center.
Dr. Bolfer is one of the few veterinarians in the country with a double Residency Training in Emergency and Critical Care and Cardiology, which equates to 6 years of dedicated advanced specialty training. Dr. Bolfer, is also one of the very few in the country, and the only one in the State of Florida, with a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Veterinary Clinical Cardiology by the University of Florida, adding another 5 years to his dedicated training in Veterinary Cardiology, totaling 11 additional years of specialty training. Dr. Bolfer is an experienced and passionate veterinarian, committed to improving animal’s quality of life through a collaborative and specialized approach, while maintaining excellent communication with his clients, colleagues, and other medical professionals. He is highly accomplished in his field, with many years of experience in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, with specialized training in Hemodialysis by the University of California-Davis, and Emergency Medicine in both private practice and academic settings. He has provided leadership in multiple areas of practice including academia, clinical services, research, and education. On his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and flying.
At the Animal Emergency and Urgent Care Center (AEUCC), our staff of veterinarians, directors, management, nurses, and employees welcome Dr. Bolfer, who will bring a new level of expertise,required to properly take care of urgent and critical cases.
Soon we will reach out to some of our colleagues to set up a visit with Dr. Bolfer, to have an open conversation and strive to better serve the needs of urgent care and emergency services in the area, as well as to offer our new service of Cardiology to all general practices.
